Problem with import of light from rhino

Hi!
I’m brand new to the software - but enjoying it so far!

  • I’m doing a render of a lamp, but the light in the imported rhino file doesn’t render in FluidRay?
In some of your tutorial vids you insert a lamp (which i can’t seem to find in anywhere?) - can i somehow create a light in FR?

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m a newbie

Hi EMSO,

Not a stupid question at all! In FluidRay, every surface can emit light. From the library on the left, drag & drop an emissive material from the “Emissions” subfolder to an object that you want to turn into a light. Then, in the editor on the right, in the material tab, you can adjust the emissive power to the desired amount.

Thank you so much!
That helped me out a lot
now - one more question:
the lightbulb of the lamp is behind a lampshade, so I can’t seem to select it!
Can i somehow turn of model layers or hide objects in the model so I can get to the light bulb?
thanks!

You can select the object to hide, then go to Edit->Hide
