Crash on 4K render in Sketchup 2025 Mac

I am using a MacBook Pro M2 - 32gb RAM. In Sketchup version 2024 I could render at 4K perfectly (3840x2160) but using Sketchup 2025 and Ambient Occlusion 4.0.1 it crashes when rendering at 3840x2160

Any ideas what I can do?

Hello, we are aware of the issue, we are working on a fix an release an updated version soon.

thanks - any update on when this will be available?

In a few days we’ll provide a temporary workaround until we find the root cause of the issue.

Nicola - Thanks for your answers to the above enquiries. It would be very helpful to get a sense of when this problem will be resolved - my subscription is coming up very shortly for renewal and without knowing this will be resolved soon - I am somewhat hesitant to renew and wonder if another application might be better? I mean no offence with this - just rather anxious for a small practice to be able to work without software hiccups!

The issue has been fixed. Please download the latest version of AmbientOcclusion by clicking on the “Download” link included in your purchase confirmation email.

Hello, the updated version when saving image as .png in resolution 3840x2160 just saves a large white image - no render?

We’ll have the fix for the problem in a couple of days. In the meanwhile, please save in .jpeg

ok thanks - will this fix include a bug where it will render with shadows but then occasionally render with no shadows, you have to restart Sketchup for it to work again?

There is a new version available for download that should fix the png issue, please let me know if the problem is solved. Regarding the shadows, can you provide the exact steps to reproduce the problem?

thanks - this works great.

The error occurs when you go to render (in my instance in 3840x2160) in the same model numerous times (for example at different angles) - after a number of renders - the renders then lose there shadow and become very flat
